The Ringling Large Blue Gray Vase is hand-turned from mango wood in soft blue and natural stripes that have tighter striations flowing around the surface. This treatment is created when the wood, which has been dried in the sun for a long period to bring out its variation in tones, is fully painted then returned to the wheel and incised with a knife.
